UPNMG Membership

Membership

The Union of Professional Nurses and Midwives, Ghana is open to all Nurses/Midwives in Ghana or Abroad who are registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (N&MC). Membership is acquired and maintained through registration and payment of monthly dues and fund through the CAGD or by bank order for those in the private sector as determined by the Union.

Current Membership

UPNMG currently has a membership of over 36,000 across all the Sixteen (16) Regions in Ghana. UPNMG remains the fastest growing Union within our profession and has demonstrated that throug sustained membership growth over the years.

Economic Reasons

For higher wages, increased benefits, shorter hours and improved working conditions are certainly important reasons for joining a union.

Access To Loans

The UPNMG welfare fund is a mutual fund not a pension’s fund. Therefore members can have access to soft loans at very low interest rates or make partial withdrawals from their money after a period of contributing to it.

Insurance Scheme

The nature of work in the world is changing. Employers are trying to shed responsibility for providing health insurance, good pension coverage, reasonable working hours and job safety.

UPNMG Hire Purchases

UPNMG shopping malls across the country selling items on hire purchase basis to members. Items on sale will be Electronics (televisions, laptops, washing machines and air conditioners), cooking utensils, kitchen stoves, mattresses etc.

Land Schemes

This scheme seeks to help members acquire affordable lands at locations of their choice at a flexible payment rate. We also have lands in some cities and towns we have dubbed UPNMG cities.
